Isometrisk

Men eg fekk brått litt for lite tid…

Dette vart ny rekord i teppelaging for min del. Start 6. april – ferdig 20. mai!

4,5 mm krok, 1250 gram Karisma.

Another gift made. For my nephew this time. I decided that an isometric afghan would be a perfect gift. Started crocheting April 6, and finished it this weekend. A new record in afghan making for me!

I've seen several afghans like this around. One version at Pescno here (in Danish), another version at Le blog Purple.

They are crocheted in single crochet. I didn't have much time for this so I decided to make my own version using double crochet (dc = larger rhombus = finish quicker).

I got quite good at making these in the end. Had to time myself Smilefjes

The rhombuses are sewn together using the long tails in the beginning and end of each rhombus. I'll write down a pattern and post it later.

  9. Solveig, this is a great design! I love the graphic clarity and think that your color choices are perfect. I could imagine it looking totally different by changing the colorways and sizes of the "cubes."

Thank you for planting another crochet notion in my head. xo

  12. hi, great work! i start this project as well a month ago (with single crochets) and gave up, as i created rhombi which differed a lot...i don´t know, what i did wrong. so i would very much appreciate a detailed crocheting pattern!

  19. How did you join the motifs together? Did you use cotton thread and a sewing needle? or did you slip stitch with the yarn? Cheers!

    1. I used a sewing needle and the long start and end tails made when crocheting. See the tutorial for more information.
